Today’s Order: La Giara

The Order:

“What do you want to order?”

“Dunno…what do you want?”

This is the typical stalemate that takes 15 minutes to resolve, even when you work at SeamlessWeb and know the restaurants inside and out. We finally chose La Giara because AnnMarie likes saying the name of the restaurant with a fake Italian accent.

La Giara Restaurant - Full Meal

Since rack of lamb is a little heavy for lunch, we opted for our own little ragout festival featuring the duck and lamb ragout pastas. The order was placed around 12:30 and the food was here by 1 pm. Speedy? Check.

The Meal:

As we pulled the order out of the SeamlessWeb bag, we noticed an unexpected, but welcome, extra helping of fresh bread.

La Giara Restaurant - Spaghetti in Lamb Ragout and Pecorino CheeseThe pastas were both piping hot and my spaghetti featured a very tasty tomato-based ragout with small pieces of shredded lamb. There was supposed to be pecorino cheese, but I didn’t see much sign of it. Luckily, the side of fresh parmesan filled in nicely.

La Giara Restaurant - Pappardelle with Duck Ragout
AnnMarie’s pappardelle was covered in a hearty sauce with large chunks of duck meat and soft carrots. We both dug in and got to work…both dishes were delicious and easy to eat at our desks without a mess (minimal splattered sauce on the shirt). There was some leftover bread which we shared with the rest of the team to earn a brownie point or two. All in all, La Giara provided good value and good food and definitely gets today’s stamp of approval. Check ‘em out!

FYI – We’re located near Bryant Park in case you want to try La Giara for yourself or give us recommendations for future orders!
