Dear SeamlessWeb,

Any updates about the SeamlessWeb iPhone app? Been waiting ever so patiently…

-Joseph, via Twitter

Dear Joseph,

Thanks for your patience! We want to make sure our mobile apps are absolutely great so we are putting the final touches on them now. Stay tuned to The Delivery Bag next week for a special sneak peek at both our BlackBerry and iPhone apps!

How did I ever survive before SeamlessWeb?

-Kenneth, via Twitter

Dear Kenneth,

You know, we actually have some hazy memories of that time ourselves and they’re frightening to say the least. There were those crazy mobile devices, heavy and clunky like bricks, those drawers full of outdated menus, and the same old Chinese food and pizza from the same old local places every week. Life was tough and we prefer not to reflect back on it.

Today is a day to move forward and look to the future. Luckily SeamlessWeb does exist and we’re in an age of online ordering ease, able to quickly and easily order up anything from Chicken Tikka Masala to a Subway sandwich and have it come straight to our door within minutes. Life is good.

    Hey Connie,

Thanks for your interest in bringing SeamlessWeb to the ATL. We don’t have any plans to expand there right now, but it’s certainly something on our radar screen and we’ll keep everyone posted if we decide to make it happen!

    Best,
    Rich

Will SeamlessWeb ever offer Rewards? Programs like American Airlines and Delta have with Rewards Network. What’s my incentive again?

I’m trying to figure out how tipping works. What is the default tip amount? I ordered a meal that came to $30.40 before tax, and the suggested tip amount was $3.25. That’s well under 15%. How do you set your default tip amounts?

I would order more directly from SeamlessWeb if I could get American Airlines miles. I would probably do it every night I am so mileage obsessed.

@AlbertF Thanks for the suggestion. Something to think about for us in the larger question of rewards, although if you already have an AA credit card, you should already be getting miles with every order!

@Gabriel The default is $2 up to a $20 order and then 10% of the order amount, rounded up to the nearest 25 cents, but we always encourage more tips!

Do you have plans for tablet apps? I almost always have my tablet on and its a nice happy medium between trying to order on a mobile app and just firing up the lappy. I’m on Android 3.1 Honeycomb for now, but I imagine the iPad 2 fans would want one too. I tried to use the mobile site today and the add to order button wouldn’t work for the entrees section of the place I was ordering from so I had to call and pay with cash. :(
Please please give us a tablet optimized app soon.

    Hi Seamless,
just wondering……when you deliver from over 4,000 restaurants, what kind of bag do you use?
Is it a “Seamless printed bag? Is it recyclable? Or do you you use the bags from the individual restaurants?

Do you offer gift cards to be purchased? I was hoping to buy my boyfriend a gift card to seamless since he’s sick and I’m away. This way he could order delivery without feeling guilty.
