New Yorkers understand the struggle of getting a table at a trendy new restaurant. But real New Yorkers understand that waiting in long lines and making reservations three months in advance aren’t their only choices. Yep, we’re talking about delivery. Here are four new NYC restaurants that were just added to Seamless in October.
Khiladi
Khiladi brings a Western twist on South Indian flavors to the East Villiage. It’s progressive and homey, just as owner Sruthi Chowdary envisioned. She set out to create a menu that included South Indian staples as well as dishes that reminded her of her childhood. And she did just that. Our favorite: the Kickin Chicken Tikka. It’s tender grilled chicken marinated in yogurt, ginger juice, turmeric, garlic and green chili. And for dessert, we’re obsessed with the Mango Mousse with crunchy pistachio crumble.
Uncle Boons
This Nolita Thai restaurant is always boomin’. We’re talking constantly busy and packed with loyal customers. It’s been that way since it opened in 2013. Now that it’s on Seamless, you can dodge the long wait times and get their delicious food delivered right to your door. Be adventurous and try the Kob Woonsen, a.k.a garlic and soy-marinated frog legs over glass noodles. A deliciously prepared frog will be your go-to dinner craving after you taste it.
Uncle Boons Sister
Yep. You read that right. Uncle Boons has a younger sister. She’s just as delicious but made for takeout and a lil’ cheaper. Uncle Boons Sister was inspired by owner Ann Redding’s mother and the meals Redding ate growing up. Almost every menu item comes with rice to complete the meals. Give the hot-dog-like Sai Oua a try. It’s a thick Thai herbal sausage covered in papaya salad.
Upside Pizza
Steer clear of the Port Authority crowd (and smell) and bring the deliciousness from Upside Pizza to your apartment. Whether you’re in the mood for a thick Sicilian or a thin New York-style slice, you’ll get fresh mozzarella, sausage, pickled peppers and more delicious ingredients. When your pizza craving hits, Upside Pizza is what you need to satisfy it.
